Your Energy Storage Solutions Incentive
These fields fill in from your backup needs. Change them to match a real quote.
This is an estimate, not a quote or a guarantee. Actual prices, savings, production and incentives vary with your home, energy use, utility rates, program rules and final system design. Incentives are set and paid by the Energy Storage Solutions program, not Premier Improvements. Your final performance payments depend on how your battery performs during dispatch events. Sizing assumes about 13.5 kWh and 5 kW per battery unit with 90 percent usable.
Connecticut Battery Incentives in 2026
- Enrollment incentive: $30 per kWh of battery capacity, or $130 per kWh on grid edge circuits, paid once for systems approved from April 1, 2026.
- Performance incentive: $300 per kW standard, $450 per kW in underserved communities and $550 per kW for low-income customers, for 10 years.
- How the program estimates it: battery capacity divided by a 2.5-hour event, times a 62 percent fleet performance rate, capped at the battery continuous power. Capacity drops 2.5 percent a year.
- Enrollment requires active dispatch. Your battery helps the grid on peak days and keeps a reserve for your outages.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big of a battery do I need for a power outage?
Most Connecticut homes that back up a refrigerator, lights, internet and heating need about 8 to 15 kWh for one day. Add well pumps, air conditioning or electric heat and the need grows fast.
What is the Connecticut battery incentive in 2026?
Energy Storage Solutions pays $30 per kWh to enroll, or $130 per kWh on grid edge circuits, plus a 10-year performance incentive of $300, $450 or $550 per kW of average battery contribution during dispatch events. The program estimates that contribution as capacity divided by 2.5 hours, times 62 percent.
Does solar recharge a battery during an outage?
Yes. A solar plus battery system recharges during the day, which stretches backup across multi-day outages.
